Sermon Series: Nothing But The Blood
Saturday @ 6:00 PM
Sunday @ 9:00 AM & 10:45 AM
For a pastor, for a church, and really, for any Christian, this is the greatest time of the year. Some could argue that it's the Christmas season, but to be honest, our faith is not based on the fact that Jesus was born. Our faith and our hope are built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. This is our focus this week at Friendship as we embrace the opportunity to identify with Christ in his sufferings AND his resurrection. As we gather tonight for Maundy Thursday, we serve and fellowship with one another just as Jesus did with his disciples on the night he was betrayed to demonstrate that he didn't come to be served but to serve. Then, we will follow tonight's service with our Journey to the Cross so that we can reflect on all that Jesus experienced as he suffered for you and me. Tomorrow night, we'll gather for a movie night that depicts that suffering in Jesus' final hours leading up to the cross. It's about as realistic as any movie could do. There will also be a separate movie for children, so we invite you to come out and bring your whole family. On Saturday morning, we'll have our annual Easter Egg Hunt for all ages. Our week will culminate with our Easter services at our regularly scheduled times on Saturday night and Sunday morning, PLUS a special Sunrise Service at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, followed by a church breakfast. For our Easter services, we'll be looking at the curse of sin, the enemies of our faith, and the reality that Jesus has conquered them all so that you and I can walk in victory in our lives. We invite you to come and worship with us at any of the special services mentioned here, as well as our weekly services which are Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 9 & 10:45 a.m. Join us and be blessed!
